So I’ve now that I’ve played three games with my Noise Marines (battle reports going up as we speak), I have a few observations about the list:
1) Using defilers for heavy support is a bit of a gamble (as opposed to using 2 oblits), and is certainly not part of a ‘comp list’ build. Even so, these units are surprisingly durable. They key with these appears to be keeping them moving forward at full speed, as static lascannons and deep striking melta absolutely will destroy them.
2) Daemons are a bit of a hit and miss. Their ability to occupy objectives cheaply (65pts) is great in an army pressed for troops. Their counter-attack capacity can also catch an opponent off guard. Even so, having them means for ‘first turn reserve everything’ option, which as you will see in my battle against the space marines proved fatal.
3) Sonic Marines are pretty sweet, but can’t be left alone, even if on your on table edge. Keeping screening units of daemons or a lash sorcerer nearby is a must for their survival.
Anyway, let me know what you all think of the reports. And as an aside, I’m working on a way to get digital video setup; more on that later.
